|SSO, HEGTA eye medical tourism|
Managers of the Social Security Organization (SSO) and the Tourism Holding of Social Security Organization (HEGTA) held a session to assess achievements of both entities in developing medical tourism in Iran.
At the Sunday meeting, Dr. Mohammad-Ali Hemmati, deputy chairman for medical affairs of the SSO, underlined the necessity for development of the capacity of hospitals under the control of the Social Security Organization.
Dr. Hemmati also emphasized that hospitals in Iran must provide foreign patients with proper opportunity to convince the foreigners to choose the Iranian hospitals for medical services.
The SSO and HEGTA prepare a plan to follow up the development of medical tourism in Iran, he said, noting that the organization identified several regions in the country for medical tourism and held a training workshop in this regard.
For his part, HEGTA Managing Director Dr. Ebrahim Bai Salami called on authorities to go in line with pragmatic attitude to speed up the preparations for promoting medical tourism in Iran.
Representative of Iran’s Red Crescent Society Dr. Hamid Chubineh said the society is ready to collaborate in overseas projects especially for medical tourism.
Larijani Managing Director of Tamin International Travel Tourist Services Company reported tourism activities of his company.
